Visibility&Color Options
Both LED and halogen bulbs can get really bright depending on the type and wattage of the bulb. But LEDs tend to offer more brightness with lesser wattage due to their higher light efficacy. Beam Pattern
Fog lights are meant to illuminate the road ahead of your vehicle in close proximity. The light is projected with a flatter beam that is closer to the ground to avoid any scattering from the fog, rain, or hail particles in front. By default, your vehicle’s reflector or projector housing is designed to achieve the best beam pattern with the factory solution, whether it is LED or Halogen. Upgrading
If you are planning to upgrade fog lights on your vehicle, you have the option to upgrade just the light bulb in the fog lamp or the complete housing for a better-looking solution.
LED Bulb
When upgrading light bulbs on fog lamps, LED lights seem to be the most obvious option, as they offer better visibility, color options, reliability, and efficiency when compared with halogen light bulbs. LED bulbs of the same size should not be a difficult task to replace in the housing. It's mostly plug-and-play when upgrading from halogen bulbs. It is a 15–20-minute job and can be done after watching a few tutorials on the internet. Correct placement of the light bulb plays a critical factor in the beam pattern. Correct beam pattern requires accurate placement of the LED bulb as it was intended to be used. If you feel like your beam pattern after upgrading is not great, consult your nearest mechanic to place the bulb correctly for you.

Off-road pods
Some companies also offer adapters to mount off-road pods as replacements for stock fog lights. These off-road pods are also LED-based but come with 6 to 9 of them instead of one. These hardly do the job for fog lights, as they offer long-range track illumination. Off-road pods for fog lights are only recommended for off-road purposes only.
